I can’t believe it’s 2018 already. I’m not sure how things are wherever you are, but its really, really cold. here. I’ve been holed up reading a lot lately, and lucky for me, a bunch of new books are coming out in the next few weeks to enable this habit. Keep reading to see what books I’m looking forward to this month!
Batman: Nightwalker by Marie Lu- I kind of love anything superhero, so this book automatically went on my TBR list before I read they synopsis. I really enjoyed Warcross, so I’m curious to see what Marie Lu does with an already-established character.
The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce- This sounds like a cute contemporary romance that heavily features music. I like a lot of 80’s music, so I’m hoping to get a lot of the references in this book.
The Fandom by Anna Day- Getting zapped into my favorite series? Yes please! This debut novel sounds like any superfan’s daydream. But will things turn out well when it truly becomes a matter of life and death? I can’t wait to read this one!
Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman- Of all the books I have listed here, this is probably the one I’m looking forward to most. I absolutely love Scythe, and I’ve been hoping for more since I last read it in January. Definitely pick both of these up as soon as you can!
Between Me and You by Allison Winn Scotch- This book reminds me of Landline by Rainbow Rowell. Their marriage on the rocks, a couple looks back at what went wrong and how the can fix it… or if it an be fixed. Its told in dual perspectives, one going forward in time and the other backward. I want it now!
Everything Here is Beautiful by Mira T Lee- I already read this book (review here), and while it was okay at the time, it is definitely a very well written novel that does an excellent job of exploring mental health. I would love to reread this sometime.
Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh- The synopsis really intrigues me, and I want to know more about the land they live in. Why do all the nobles get resurrected? Do they go into the magic? Zombies! I’ll definitely be looking for this one soon!
Wires and Nerve, Vol 2: Gone Rogue by Marissa Meyer- As long as she is willing to write it, I will continue reading anything to do with the Lunar Chronicles. This book looks more at Iko’s programming and features all the characters we know and love. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
The Upside of Falling Down by Rebekah Crane- This book is a YA romance/self-discovery/coming of age story about the sole survivor of a plane crash. The story takes place in Ireland, and I love books that take place in other countries. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to this one, but I hope to read it sometime this year.
Did I miss anything?
Let me know in the comments what books you’re looking forward to this month!
